Summary

Empowering Tomorrow’s Water Leaders!

The DANURELY project, led by GWP CEE, focuses on empowering youth in the Danube Region to contribute to water security and resilience in the face of extreme events like floods and droughts. The project aims to address key challenges such as water quality, biodiversity loss, and waterborne transport by building youth knowledge, leadership, and skills in water management. It emphasizes intergenerational cooperation and creates platforms for meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes.

Through collaboration with national and transnational institutions including EUSDR, ICPDR, and GWP, the project supports the EU Strategy for the Danube Region by aligning with priority areas on water quality, environmental risks, and knowledge society.

Key activities include a focus group survey, transdisciplinary dialogues, capacity-building workshops, and the establishment of the Danube Youth Council, all designed to foster youth leadership and engagement in shaping sustainable water management policies.
